Character Kid is the name we have applied to our character education. Each week, throughout the school, we study particular characteristics of good behavior and values. This is a part of school curriculum and is scheduled on the CLAP outline and on lesson plans. In the VPK Bees, an award bee is given each week to one child that demonstrates the desired trait. All children are rewarded more frequently for good behavior and for demonstrating these character traits. Rewards may come in the form of praise, a "thumbs up", applause, or a pat on the back for a "job well done".
